Love Story: Two Girls, One Beautiful Dream
Love Story: Two Girls, One Beautiful Dream
Ananya and Riya met on a quiet afternoon at a small college library. They were both reaching for the same book when their hands touched.
“Sorry,” Ananya said with a shy smile.
Riya laughed softly. “Maybe the book wanted us to meet.”
Neither of them knew how true those words would become.
From that day, they started spending more time together. At first, they talked about simple things—classes, music, fashion, favorite foods, and their dreams for the future. Slowly, their conversations became deeper.
Ananya dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. She loved sketching beautiful dresses and imagined someday having her own studio. Riya wanted to become a photographer. She loved capturing emotions through pictures, especially the moments people usually failed to notice.
Their dreams were different, but somehow they fit perfectly together.
Riya often photographed Ananya while she was designing. Ananya, in return, helped Riya choose outfits and locations for her photography projects.
“You make everything look beautiful,” Ananya once told her.
Riya smiled.
“No. I just know how beautiful you already are.”
Ananya looked away, hiding the blush on her face.
As the months passed, their friendship became something neither of them could easily explain. They were happiest when they were together. A simple cup of tea became a special memory. A walk after college felt like an adventure. Even sitting silently beside each other felt comfortable.
One rainy evening, they stood beneath a small shop roof, watching the streets disappear behind a curtain of rain.
“Do you ever get scared about the future?” Riya asked.
“Sometimes,” Ananya admitted. “I'm afraid I'll fail. I'm afraid my dreams are too big.”
Riya gently held her hand.
“Then when you're scared, look at me. I'll remind you how far you've already come.”
Ananya looked into her eyes.
“And who will remind you?”
Riya smiled.
“You.”
That moment changed everything.
Their feelings slowly grew beyond friendship. Neither wanted to rush them or give them a name. They simply allowed their hearts to speak through small gestures—holding hands, sharing smiles, waiting for each other, and being there whenever life became difficult.
Then came the biggest challenge.
Ananya received an opportunity to study fashion in another city. It was the chance she had dreamed about for years, but accepting it meant leaving Riya behind.
“I don't want to go if it means losing you,” Ananya whispered.
Riya held back her tears.
“You shouldn't have to choose between your dream and me.”
“But what if distance changes everything?”
Riya smiled through her tears.
“Then we'll prove that distance can't decide what two hearts feel.”
The day Ananya left, they hugged for a long time at the railway station.
“Promise me something,” Riya said.
“What?”
“Don't stop dreaming.”
Ananya smiled.
“And you don't stop waiting.”
Months passed. They spoke every night through calls and messages. They shared photographs, sketches, dreams, worries, and countless little moments.
When Ananya finally returned, Riya was waiting at the station with flowers.
Ananya ran toward her.
For a moment, neither said anything. They simply held each other.
“I missed you,” Ananya whispered.
“I missed you more.”
Ananya smiled.
“Then let's never waste another day.”
Years later, Ananya opened her own fashion studio, while Riya became a successful photographer. Their lives were filled with work, travel, and new dreams.
But whenever they looked back, they remembered that rainy afternoon when two girls reached for the same book.
Perhaps it wasn't the book that brought them together.
Perhaps it was the beginning of a story they were always meant to write—one filled with courage, dreams, friendship, and a love strong enough to cross every distance.
