Work Love Story — Love Between Deadlines

Love Between Deadlines

Aarav and Meera worked in the same creative company, but their personalities were completely different. Aarav was quiet, organized, and always focused on his work. Meera was energetic, ambitious, and believed that every project should carry a little creativity and emotion.

They first met during a busy Monday morning.

Meera rushed into the office carrying a laptop, a notebook, and a cup of coffee. She accidentally bumped into Aarav, spilling coffee across his desk.

“Oh no! I'm so sorry!” she said nervously.

Aarav looked at his coffee-covered papers and then at Meera.

“You've officially made my Monday interesting,” he said with a smile.

Meera laughed. “I'll buy you another coffee.”

“That sounds like a fair deal.”

Neither of them knew that one coffee would eventually become hundreds of conversations.

As the weeks passed, they started working together on an important company project. At first, their conversations were only about deadlines, presentations, and ideas. But slowly, they began talking about their lives outside the office.

Aarav discovered that Meera loved music and dreamed of starting her own creative business someday. Meera learned that Aarav secretly wrote poetry whenever he had free time.

“You write poems?” she asked one evening.

“Sometimes.”

“Then you have to show me one.”

“Maybe someday.”

She smiled. “I'll wait.”

Their friendship grew stronger with every passing day.

They shared lunch breaks, helped each other with difficult tasks, and stayed late at the office when deadlines became stressful. Whenever Meera felt nervous before a presentation, Aarav would quietly tell her, “You've prepared for this. Trust yourself.”

Whenever Aarav doubted his own ideas, Meera reminded him, “You're better than you think you are.”

Without realizing it, they had become each other's favorite part of the workday.

One rainy evening, the office was almost empty. Everyone had gone home except Aarav and Meera. They were finishing the final presentation for their project.

Meera looked out the window.

“Sometimes I think we spend so much time working that we forget to live,” she said.

Aarav looked at her.

“Maybe life is better when you have someone to share the work with.”

Meera turned toward him.

“Someone like you?”

Aarav smiled.

“Exactly.”

For a moment, the sound of rain filled the room.

Then Aarav finally showed her the poem he had written.

The last line said:

"In a room full of people, somehow my eyes always find you."

Meera read it twice.

“Is this about me?”

Aarav nodded.

“I think it has been for a long time.”

Meera smiled, her heart beating faster.

“I was hoping it was.”

Their relationship didn't change their professional goals. Instead, it made them stronger. They encouraged each other to dream bigger, work harder, and never give up.

Months later, their project became one of the company's biggest successes. Everyone celebrated, but Aarav and Meera quietly stood together near the window.

“We did it,” Meera said.

“We did it together,” Aarav replied.

She held his hand.

“Do you remember the coffee accident?”

Aarav laughed.

“How could I forget? That was the beginning.”

“The beginning of what?”

He looked into her eyes.

“Of my favorite story.”

Meera smiled.

Their love story proved that romance doesn't always begin in a beautiful place. Sometimes it begins between deadlines, meetings, coffee breaks, and long hours at work.

Because sometimes, while you're busy building your career, you unexpectedly find someone who becomes part of your life.

And sometimes the best coworker becomes your best friend, your greatest supporter, and finally—

the person you want beside you when every workday ends.
